Quirky Elves

There’s literally nothing wrong with the B/X elf but I’m going to fix it anyway because I’m bored.

Elves are pure and undying. The world is decaying, and the treasure of ancient dungeons is your birthright. At least, that’s what they all say in the elven taverns.

Elves combine the abilities of Magic Users and Fighters, able to cast spells in armor and use any weapon. Elves definitely start with 1 spell and never get extra attacks.

Elf facts:

  • Anyone raised by an elf becomes an elf.
  • Elves can detect secret doors on 1-in-6 just by passing them.
  • Elves are immune to paralysis from ghouls.
  • Elves have a 2-in-6 to hear noises.
  • Elves can see 60’ in starlight.
  • Elves level very slowly. Probably half as fast as fighters.

All elves must roll on this table to get a matched Feat, Modifier, and bonus starting gear.

D6FeatModifierFree extra gear

  1. I don’t see any conceptual difference between good elf’s/bad elf’s/demons/devils/aliens/undead

I think it’s our newfangled need to categorize everything, something that probably the average elf-shot victim of the Dark Ages didn’t worry about too much as he whistled past the graveyard on a foggy night

I like it – did we play DCC at all when you were gaming with us?
